In addition to my ownership of up-to-the-minute best practice that spans the product lifecycle end-to-end, my decade as a Service Designer deeply embedded my user-centric mindset in both B2B and B2C contexts. My 12 years as a commercial Visual Designer gives me a fluency in layout, brand communication and UI, plus the skills to effectively and appropriately present a compelling story both to users as embodied in the product and to stakeholders through engaging supporting project deliverables.
As a City & Guilds: Education & Training (Level 3) qualified workshop leader/facilitator I’m a skilled communicator and love involving as wide a collection of stakeholders as possible when leading collaborative design workshops proven to reliably deliver strong results and inspire pan-organisational UX advocacy.
Outside of my UX practice I'm also an illustrator, lead cross-curricular educational workshops in sound/art/science for school kids, voluntarily lead music workshops at a mental health charity and squeeze time in to make my own music and collaborate to make music videos.
Fully qualified and helping people of all ages, backgrounds and needs to realise their learning aspirations and to develop the curiosity and confidence necessary for sustained self-directed discovery.
I’ve delivered engaging technical instruction for businesses, developed and lead award winning creative sound art workshops for schools and have facilitated joyful and hugely rewarding group music and recording sessions at a day centre for people with severe and enduring mental health problems.
I create striking imagery that communicates complex ideas in seconds, both as effective information communication and as a potent vehicle for client identity. Illustrations above and below showcases some work I've done for the music industry.
I love drawing on my illustration skills for UX storyboarding, as can be seen in the image at the top of this page. Check it out.
I’ve been in bands most of my life. I create innovative software instruments for live collaborative music making that I play in performances at gigs in the UK, USA and Europe ranging from sold out 5K capacity venues to art galleries.
I love getting the chance to experiment and have fun with some incredibly talented people when collaborating to art direct music videos.
